This project sought to remove a number of poorly-built, poorly-designed historic additions which were nearing the end of their useful life and which compromised the use and appearance of the existing property.
These were replaced with a single, unified, pitched-roof extension that more closely related to the form and materiality of the existing dwelling, as well as that of the neighbouring property (which had recently been extended in a similar fashion).
The extension was built to a much higher standard than the previous unsatisfactory additions, offering benefits in terms of water ingress, condensation, thermal comfort, acoustics, energy usage and fire safety.
