YNGR Design Ltd has received planning permission and listed building consent to transform an old brick stable building into a dedicated teaching space for Low Carbon Technology on Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College’s Holme Lacy Campus.
The existing steel trusses will be retained with a new insulated steel roof and rooflights installed above. The external walls will be insulated to improve energy-efficiency and lined with sustainably-sourced plywood, whilst new low energy lighting, Air Source Heat Pumps, roof-mounted Solar PV and efficient MVHR system will create an exemplar low-carbon refurbishment appropriate for a national centre of excellence.
The project will start on site at the end of November, with a rapid 4 month build programme.
