YNGR Design Ltd recently handed over a the first phase of our conversion of an old stables block into a dedicated workshop facility for Low Carbon Technology on Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College’s Holme Lacy Campus.
The existing steel trusses were retained with a new insulated steel roof and rooflights installed above. The external walls were insulated with Welsh ‘CosyWool‘ to improve energy-efficiency and lined with recycled Gypsum board to provide a robust and sustainable solution. The resilient workshop flooring is also 100% recycled.
Elsewhere new low energy lighting, Air Source Heat Pump, 24kW roof-mounted Solar PV and efficient MVHR system all help to create an exemplar low-carbon refurbishment appropriate for a national centre of excellence.
