Our Low Carbon Technology Training Centre in Herefordshire has been shortlisted for two Unlock Net Zero Awards, recognising its innovation in both sustainability and skills development.
The Low Carbon Technology Training Centre at Holme Lacy has been named a finalist in the Innovation of the Year and Skills & Training Award categories.
The project transformed a series of Grade II Listed stable buildings into a state-of-the-art facility for teaching renewable energy and retrofit skills — while carefully preserving their historic character.
In doing so, the scheme achieved a UK-first milestone, becoming the first Listed building to attain AECB CarbonLite Retrofit certification — a leading standard for low-energy buildings.
The Centre is now helping to train the next generation of low-carbon installers, supporting the transition to more sustainable homes and buildings across the UK.
Winners of the Unlock Net Zero Awards will be announced at a ceremony on 23 June 2026.
